lovaliss's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We got a bad habit called war. The world has a dirty habit called "war". When did the world decide it was okay to start killing each other over disagreements or wrong doings...always in the name of defense for our liberty, families, and way of life...but how do we know it is really so pure? That when an American takes the life of another human being it IS because he has to to defend our freedom. I'm afraid that is a rare man with a heart like that in war. But we all feel a little better if we can say that, write it off as a "defense of our freedom". My parents gladly explain the war away with statements like that. "The Book of Mormon says war is okay when you are defending your families and freedom..." And in statements like that we even go as far to glorify the cause of it, and feel a strike of pride in our American hearts that "we will win damn it! because we always win!" Even though we don't, we just don't talk about it when we don't and keep writing in the history books about how we're undefeated because Freedom of Press and Freedom of Speech makes everything anyone says true, especially in relation to American history. (Incoporate jesting tone.) And it is a habit...a habit the world has sunken into where when we can't solve things any other way so we resort to acting as a couple of 12 year old's on the play ground pushing and shoving until the weaker on buckles with "Uncle!" Only we're not twelve, so we pull out a granade and blow the shit out of them. It seems ridiculous to think of a 12 year old killing somebody with a granade...but isn't it always ridiculous no matter what the age? I believe that because peace is impossible in the world, then physically defending yourself against the world is unavoidable, this is true... So I guess what I'm saying is I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to make things better or what to do differently because I don't know the inside. Who DOES know what's REALLY going on!!!??? No one. Just a bad habit Cain started I suppose. 9:57 a.m. - 2005-07-11 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
