lovaliss's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Almond Chris was like our “Timothy Leary”, who just by being himself left an imprint on everything around him that shifted the culture. He was the top dawg weirdo of all weirdos. He was authentically wacky, and not because it was a gimmick to try to appear more interesting than he actually was—he really was just that wacky and interesting. He was better at being himself than anyone I’ve ever known and without question also one of the funniest people I've ever met. He was definitely polarizing, at times controversial, and not without fault--no doubt, people felt strongly about him on a wide sliding scale that seemed to correlate with whatever stage he was at in his life when they met him. For all the funny and wacky times and conversations, there were as many serious conversations and open-hearted reflections on life, existence, religion, belonging, and what it meant to be human. We know you were tired, and you gave what you had to give. If I could go back in time to last week, I’d tell you that we love you and we will miss you forever. P.S. If there is, in fact, life after death and your consciousness has survived somehow in a way that you have retained your memories and basic personality, please feel free to haunt us in characteristically funny ways--real classic Chris type stuff--please and thank you in advance. 3:26 p.m. - 2018-06-21 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
